The Coach House

London bed and breakfast with a difference

Letters and E-mails

Dear Harley and Meena,

We had a fantastic time. The Coach House was perfect for us; it had lots of space for our family of four. The two bathrooms were very helpful in getting ready each day. The kitchen was great for the mornings that we had an early start. The breakfast Meena prepared in the main house was delicious, and we enjoyed meeting ya'll and your family, it gave an extra dimension to our trip.

Your advice on sightseeing was very helpful since we were only there for a few days and you setting up our hired cars for the airport was invaluable. The tube station is very close and made our journeys into London very easy.

I would highly recommend the Coach House.

Dear Harley and Meena,

Very belatedly I just wanted to thank you so very much for making us so welcome at the Coach House. After rather fraught days at the hospital with our son it was so good to walk back into your little oasis of calm in the courtyard and wonderfully comfortable Coach House. It was so so quiet, which is saying something for us, as we live in rural Wiltshire/Dorset! Thank you for letting us sit in your beautiful sunny courtyard full of flowers and also for the most delicious breakfast every morning which set us up for the day. We enjoyed our chats every morning about our mutual travels around the world!

Tom, our son, is now recovering well and looking a hundred times better. They have just had their little son christened, so we had a wonderful family picnic to celebrate that and Tom's recovery, so life is now looking better!

Hope that you are having a good summer and if we are ever in your area again for any reason, we would love to come and stay at the Coach House again.

With very best wishes to you both, and happy travelling!

Janine and Will (Hillary)

Dear Harley and Meena,

We wanted to thank you for taking us into your home and making 4 "Yanks" feel welcome. We had a wonderful time. Your hospitality was top notch and Meena's breakfasts were always fabulous. Your (and, now, our) London is an amazing place. The vitality and bustle of the city at all hours of the day was amazing.

From Mozart to football, we just loved it all. We will definitely recommend you to our friends and look forward to using your accommodations again in the future.

Again, thank you for helping us ring in a most memorable New Year.

Pat, Donna, Dan and Bridget Dennis

Thanks for your email welcoming us home! We did enjoy our stay with you. The Coach House was a wonderful retreat at the end of our busy, sightseeing days; and we were so grateful that Meena was able to make provision to store our luggage on the last day. I have (almost) replicated Meena's porridge and my daughter declared it, "the best thing I had brought back from England."

Harley and Meena,

It was so nice to get a little note from you after we got back to the "states". It just reminded us of all the great times we had while we were over there. We wish we had more time to see and do what we didn't see, but as with the reality of life, all good things must come to an end. But, we do plan on coming back and picking up where we left off.

Of course, the highlight of our stay was our morning breakfast, deliciously prepared by a great cook, Meena. But the food was secondary to chatting with both you and Meena. It's always interesting getting to know new friends. We could have sat and chatted all morning.

Thanks for helping us during our stay and look forward to someday staying with you again, maybe at one of your Paris stays. You helped make the end of our two weeks in Europe a delight.

Keep in touch,

Steve Fourman

Hi Harley and Meena - We really enjoyed our stay at the Coach House. Thank you for everything! We wanted to let you know that Meena's porridge was one of the best new foods we experienced on our trip! If you have a chance, please send us the recipe!

Back to the real world of work tomorrow!

Thanks again, Gail, John and Steven

My wife and I stayed at the Coach House for our first visit to London and we were very happy with our choice. We were looking for a place that was reasonably priced, offered an opportunity to interact with Londoners, and was out of the way of the usual tourist setting. Located in Balham, a residential neighborhood South of London, we never ran into another American. Restaurants, located within a short walking distance, were wonderful and gave us further opportunities to interact with the locals. The tube was located just a 5 minute walk from the B&B and it got us to central London in 15-20 minutes.

The Coach House itself is operated by a wonderful couple (Harley and Meena) who live in the house in front of the Coach House. We had a superb breakfast every morning (included in the price) with our hosts and spent about an hour each day discussing our plans for the day as well as many topics regarding the life of Londoners and life in England.

We highly recommend it and look forward to our next stay there on our next trip to London.

George and Gayle Gerson, Grand Junction, Colorado

Harley and Meena: Thanks so very much for helping to make our first trip to London one that we will treasure for a lifetime! We loved staying at the Coach House, and we really appreciate the efforts you both made to take care of our every need--from Meena's excellently prepared breakfasts, to Harley's insights about the city and his travel tips. It was truly a pleasure to return to the peace and tranquillity of the Coach House after hours of sightseeing; sipping a glass of wine while enjoying the lovely garden was the perfect way to wind down after our daily, non-stop excursions. We couldn't have asked for more. London is an extraordinary city and there is still much we'd like to see and do there; you can bet we'll be back, and looking forward to another stay at the Coach House!

Mike, Donna and Tessa Krey

PS. Mike's run in Richmond Park with Harley remains a personal highlight of his London experience!

We loved our time in London and we were pleasantly surprised by the warmth and friendly reception you gave to us at The Coach House. Thank you for everything - Edgard.

Dear Meena and Harley,
We must tell you again how delighted we were to stay at the Coach House ; it was just perfect : the accommodation, the hosts, the food . We enjoyed everything and most particularly our conversations in the mornings , even the transportation to the centre of London was simple and quick . Since we came back we keep talking about you and recommending you to our relatives and friends . We'll be back. Take care and best regards - Mireille

Harley and Meena,

Just wanted to drop a note and tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. Your hospitality was outstanding and Meena, those breakfasts were wonderful! (Danean thinks the porridge recipe should be posted on your website as she made us lug porridge oats home in our suitcase and now has no idea what to do with them.) Our entire journey was great but our stay in London made us feel at 'home'. The Coach House will definitely be our first stop when we visit London again. Thanks so much for everything!
Tyler (Wayde), Danean, Sam and Caitlin Ermentrout

Dear Meena and Harley,

I wanted to thank you for the delicious breakfasts and lovely time we had staying at the Coach House. It made our stay in London really great, such a nice place to get away from all the hubbub of the big city. I have been cooking porridge for my boys for breakfast since we got back on Sunday. Dan used to refuse to eat breakfast but now he eats the porridge and I am so glad. I even bought real cream to put in it, as you did.

Thanks again!

Amy Persechini and family

Dear Harley and Meena,
Norma and I really enjoyed our stay at the Coach House, it was the perfect place for a London get-a-way, and proof there is truth in advertising. We found the Coach House offered both the conveniences of a B-n-B and the privacy of the vacation rental; a charming house, charming hosts, a charming nationhood, and if I might add: all for a charming price. You mentioned that you get what you pay for in London, but Norma and I felt we got much more than we paid for during our two-week stay. For the out of town visitor looking for high quality accommodations away from the tourist ghettos, but close central London, The Coach House is the place to stay.
John and Norma Farley

Greetings, Harley and Meena!

We arrived back here all in one piece. And yes, we waded through all of the nonsense that was awaiting us here. It didn't go away, as we had hoped.

We were unsure of what to expect when we first arrived in London, and were eagerly looking forward to meeting you and taking in the whole London experience. We had heard that the people in Britain were very friendly and hospitable.

When we arrived at the Coach House, we were pleasantly surprised, as we were greeted by two very warm and hospitable people. The Coach House is enchanting, the garden picture pretty, and the accommodations cozy, comfortable, and more than sufficient to meet out needs.

Meena, your breakfasts were the "full Monty" and hit the spot, especially the porridge. We enjoyed our morning conversations with you both over coffee. You helped make our stay a memorable event, the memories of which we will carry with us always.

Pam & Andy

Hi Harley and Meena,
My family enjoyed the stay at your B&B. As hosts, you were great. The breakfast was beyond expectations as tested by my family who ate everything presented especially the porridge. The location was nice and did not take but a few more stops to get to downtown. I will recommend "The Coach House" to anyone going to London.

Meena, would you be so kind to send the recipe for your porridge?

Best Regards,
Ed Gonzales & Family

Hello Harley and Meena,
We arrived home to a small mountain of mail and have spent most of this past week catching up! It was a wonderful vacation in countless ways, not the least of which was our stay at your beautiful Coach House. The three of us have talked several times about how lovely it was to sit in the garden after a full day of activity, just basking in the serenity and peace of our surroundings. The Coach House was everything we expected it to be and much more. Meena's breakfasts, coupled with delightful conversation, were just the ticket to get us started each day! We are delighted to recommend your Coach House to visitors as a beautiful place to stay.
Thank you for the photos! They are splendid reminders of a very special vacation!
P.S. Please tell Meena that we can't find anything here in the States that compares to the wonderful taste of her porridge!

Harley and Meena,
We just want to say what wonderful hosts you were during our stay at the Coach House in London. This was our first experience in a B & B. I am sure we will do others but they will have a high standard to meet!!

Our friends who had stayed with you previously were certainly correct--the royal seal could be applied. Meena is a great cook, Harley is a fount of tourist information, and the garden is so pretty and fragrant. I could go on with other superlatives but space is limited. If we are back in London again, we will certainly want to stay with you again.
Our flight back to Flagstaff, AZ was good. We are beginning to get our internal clocks reset to this time zone.

Steve & Sharon

Hi Harley and Meena and thanks for your email.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coach House. Your hospitality and the comfort of the Coach House were outstanding, and we particularly appreciated the peace and quiet of its location away from the street. Meena's breakfasts were delicious, and we enjoyed the conversation each morning...particularly your tips on what to see in London.

When we get back to London (maybe next year if the dollar regains some strength), we definitely plan to stay with you again.

Regards, Bob and Char-Lou

Hello there and thanks for your kind email.

Jamie and I enjoyed ourselves very much during our stay at the Coach House. It was perfect for a wee retreat from the hustle and bustle of he city, but was very easily located.

I think my favourite memory is of breakfast on Saturday, Meena's cooking was delicious and really set me up for the day. I also appreciated her allowing me to take a bowl of porridge and cup of tea up for Jamie as he was feeling a little unwell.

Equally lovely was the continental breakfast we enjoyed in the Coach House kitchen on Sunday.

We did have a wonderful time and have some great memories.

Thank you both for the part you played in that.

Hello Harley and Meena,

Thank you for the pictures. We have been showing them to people to let them know where the BEST place to stay is. I have to say that our stay with you was nicer than expected! I had already expected it would be great as long as it turned out to be like the pictures on your website. Your location for seeing all of London is fantastic. We truly appreciated that the tube was a short walk. We also found that we were much more pleased eating in the restaurants in your neighborhood than we were eating in London. The Espresso/Italian restaurant was our favorite.

We really enjoyed our breakfast conversations and appreciate very very much you steering us in the direction of Brugge. What a fantastic day it was. It was great talking music with you and wished we had had more time to do that. I'll be thinking about you when we go see Carmen this week.

Meena, you are a fabulous cook. I wish I could find and make porridge the way you do. Even my kids loved it. And how do you get your eggs so fluffy?

All in all I would highly recommend you to anyone travelling to London. The accommodations were charming and comfortable . The neighborhood clean and impeccable. The Hosts, above the best's I've encountered in my travels. The food, YUMMY. The location, excellent. And the value for accommodations....exceptional. You should make Rick Steves top list!

Best to you all and hope to return some day,
Cindy Peterson

Harley and Meena,

Our stay at the Coach House was delightful. Thank you both for your assistance with everything, including supplying a box for shipping the nebulizer back to Bath, finding a phone number for British Airways, and tidying up our lodgings every day (completely unexpected but most appreciated). We looked forward to starting each day with a delicious, hot breakfast, and we were never disappointed. Meena, your porridge was absolutely sumptuous. I wish I had the recipe, because I am missing it.

I want to take a minute to apologize for leaving the Coach House in such a rush. Before our departure, I had intended to take the time to clean out the fridge at least, but someone didn't set the alarm (and that someone was me), so we were awakened by our driver. The ride to Gatwick was a bit tense as I struggled to sort out my hair and make-up in the taxi. The croissants and muffins you so thoughtfully left in the kitchen saved the morning, though, and at least we were well fed before our flight. I have thought fondly of you many times for that particular kindness.

As promised, we are passing around your business cards and will recommend you to our friends and the travel guides, particularly Rick Steves. Our lodgings and hosts were most pleasant, and we sincerely hope to return in the future. Thanks again for a very enjoyable stay at the Coach House.

Sincerely, Brenda Evans

Dear Harley and Meena,

I am just back in the office and I wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I enjoyed our trip to London and our accommodations at the Coach House. What I didn't count on was the splendid morning conversation with the two of you. I don't know when I will next be visiting London but when I do I will sure to make lodging arrangements with you.

Sincerely and best wishes

Gregg McLanahan

Hello Meena and Harley,

We arrived back in Flagstaff Sept 8th, after a thoroughly enjoyable time in England and Scotland. Your welcome and wonderful hospitality started us off on what was a 10 out of 10 experience.

We feel that the Coach House is worthy of the Royal Seal in all aspects.

Be assured, we will stay with you again when the opportunity presents. Also we will recommend your accommodations to any of our friends travelling to the U.K.

Best Regards,

Glen & Barb Wagner

Hello Harley and Meena,

We had such an incredible stay at The Coach House. I (Denise here) had no idea what to expect, and have already passed your name around to friends and family. I absolutely loved your place, it was quiet, relaxing, and only about a 7 minute walk to the tube! It was all that I wanted and more with a lovely breakfast in a traditional London home with two lovely people! Thanks again, Harley and Meena!

Suggestions: Only one. The shower plumbing requires a level of skill that I (Ken here) was not able to achieve during our stay. ;) Denise claims to have had no great difficulties, but I never got through a shower without wild and seemingly uncontrollable oscillations between cold and scalding temperatures. Still, despite this shortcoming, my overall experience with the Coach House netted out at well over 110% satisfaction. The two of you were a significant part of the appeal. In short, London was a highlight of our holiday. Thanks again to you two!

~The Wetherells

Harley and Meena,

Thank you for your exceptional hospitality. The Coach House is wonderful. The two of you were most gracious and Meena is a wonderful cook. We will be sure to recommend you to family and friends who are visiting London and hope to see you again on our next trip. Best regards,

Barry, Ellen and Katie Steinhardt

Dear Meena and Harley,
We are now back home and had a wonderful time. Thanks for all the help. We really enjoyed the Coach House and will highly recommend it to any one we come across looking for an apartment in London. We found the location to be very good for accessing central London which on this trip was our focus.
Thanks again, Terry.

Meena and Harley

Thought you might like to grace your kitchen with these William Morris tea towels; no guarantee that they actually dry anything!

Breakfast each day was wonderful and we were so pleased to return to The Coach House each evening. You add a dimension to vacationing that is beyond expectation.

Sincerely, Joan

Dear Harley and Meena,

You read my mind because I planned to write and tell you how much we all enjoyed our stay there. We were so glad to have the Coach House as our home while in London. It is so comfortable and charming, and definitely worth traveling an extra few minutes by tube. It was great to walk through your lovely patio and garden every night after returning from a long day. Meena's breakfasts were a highlight of our trip and we enjoyed visiting with both of you.

We did not see you after returning from Cambridge so I have to tell you how much we loved the town and colleges. We took a walking tour with a guide who actually has your same last name. I think his first name was Mike. Anyway, thank you again and feel free to use any of my statements as a testimonial.

Melanie, Wayne, Martha, and Leatha

We had the most splendid time. We've been telling every one how perfect everything was. One of the best experiences of our lives! We felt like we were able to have a taste of what it would be like to actually live in London, which we are seriously considering. With this in mind, we plan to come back very soon, maybe in the fall! We'll keep you posted. Thank you again!

Abe and Hannah

Hello again,

Thanks for the lovely stay in your Coach House. We enjoyed meeting you both and were very pleased with our accomodations at your home. California has welcomed us with beautiful weather and we expected no less after our great weather in England.

Kellene Cousins

Hello, Harley and Meena,

I have been meaning to email you to let you know that the missing papers did show up...neatly tucked into a pocket of my suitcase. I apologize for the confusion I caused.

The Coach House was ideal for us as a family with two young adult children. Great to have two separate baths, kitchen was attractive and very adequately supplied with dishes, etc. We loved the upstairs room with its exposed beams, toile linens, and dressing table...much more character than the ordinary lodgings. The walk to public transport was short, and we enjoyed some of the nearby restaurants after long days of sightseeing. The attractive garden, English breakfasts (especially the porridge) and friendly hosts added to a great family visit. We will certainly refer others to the Coach House.

Dear Harley and Meena,

What a pleasant surprise! Thank you so much for the photographs. We realized at some point in our trip that we had forgotten to take photos of you and The Coach House.

And you are right. We have returned to the increased pace of daily duties and activities. Our trip, however, will sustain us for a while, and of course, it started with you.

The Coach House was ideal for a reunion with our daughter. We truly enjoyed the tasteful accommodations, Meena's gourmet, wholesome breakfasts, and the chats with both of you. We felt very welcomed in your home. And we thought of you often as we visited Paris, Avignon and Barcelona.

Do keep in touch. An honest exchange of positive energy and ideas among well-intentioned world citizens is necessary more than ever in these times.

Best regards,
Earl, Denyse and Imani Alexander

Harley and Meena -

We just want to say thank you for all you did to make our stay with you one of the best experiences we've had. Staying at the Coach House was a perfect way to stay in London to give us a feel of how it is to live in there, something we would never have gotten at a hotel. We especially enjoyed breakfast time in being able to talk to the two of you (hope that you enjoyed Barcelona). We had a wonderful time despite the garden work. We will certainly tell everyone who we talk to about our stay to contact you when they plan a trip to London. Hopefully, we will make it back to London and would definitely stay at the Coach House again.

We also would like to send you a little something in appreciation, but do not have your last name or full mailing address. We would appreciate it if you would send me that information.

The Coach House in the Snow

Hello and thanks for your note,

Our stay in London couldn't have been better. Your place is so fantastic - just a perfect location for us, being a short walk to our friends who live nearby, on Fernside Road.

It was just great to have a little house to call our own while in London - we loved how peaceful and private it was, and you have furnished it so comfortably. We couldn't have asked for more.

We will definitely be coming again!

Thanks, Susan

Dear Harley and Meena,

What a treat to find your email upon returning home! We had a lovely, uneventful flight home and arrived to find everyone thrilled to see us,missing us, anxious to hear all our stories and happy with all our purchases! The boys wore their french shirts yesterday and our bone cutlery is carefully tucked in the drawer.

Thank you so very much for your gracious hospitality. The lovely decor, the beautifully set table, the tasty and nourishing breakfast, the crumpets, the shopping hints, and your kind attention all made Anna Claire and me feel like family. No wonder your children delight in you so and enjoy your company. We enjoyed meeting you so much and hope to bring the whole family soon. The Coach House was warm and inviting as was your care and interest in us. I cannot think of any improvements! Thank you also for finding Solomon, the driver. We had such a pleasant drive to Gatwick, using all kinds of interesting village short-cuts and enjoying rich conversation!

We will keep in touch and recommend you to our traveling friends. Thank you again for the time at The Coach House. It was the crowning touch to our trip.

Many thanks,
Melanie Walker

Hi Harley and Meena:

We arrived home safely but it took one extra day for our luggage to catch up with us. Our trip to Great Britain was rather hectic but we accomplished most of our planned activities. The balance will have to wait until next time.

Our Holiday in London was enhanced by the hospitality displayed by both of you at the Lauderville Guest House. The accomodation was as advertised and Meena's cooking, particularly our last night dinner, was the highlight of our stay with you.

Best regards,

Howard, Karen, Robin & Larry

Good Morning,

How very nice to find your email this morning.

Indeed, we had a terrific plane ride home with a wonderful pilot that landed without even a bump. That doesn't happen very often.

We want to thank you again for the lovely time at the Coach House and most of all your hospitality. Our only regret was that we didn't have more time with you, Meena and Joanna. We are all still talking about the delicious breakfasts. I'm going to try my porridge this weekend. This may start a whole new trend in breakfast.

We will certainly stay with you again when we come again and I will recommend The Coach House to all.

I've forwarded your message on to Jon and Alisha and also to Kandi and Andy with the hope they will reply also.

Thank you again for the wonderful memories.

Best regards,

Dear Meena and Harley,

Thank you for such an enjoyable stay in London. We really enjoyed ourselves, even if we were thoroughly pooped each night when we came back to the Coach House. The flight home was uneventful, thankfully, but we did get the opportunity to share one of your business cards with a woman and her son we met at the airport. She had booked a B&B in London, found it undesirable, and had spent the remainder of her visit in a hotel. She heard us talking about the nice time we had staying with you, so she asked us if we could recommend a nice place to stay. We gave her your card and told her it was ideal. Though I don't remember her name, I hope she looks you up for her next trip back to London. Needless to say, we will continue to sing your praises to all we meet who may be contemplating a visit your way.

Best regards, and we will indeed keep you in mind should we make another trip to London.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coach House. Jude slept better than he did at home and the girls now want TVs in their bedrooms! We hope to return later in the year. Thanks again.

Jonathan and Claire

Hello there,

Good morning, I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of us both, to thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a marvellous welcome and a wonderful stay in your beautiful Coach house. We really enjoyed every moment from the time we arrived to the minute of our departure, at the end of our stay neither of us wanted to leave, thank you for the memories of our stay that will last with us both for years to come. Truly magical and if you would allow we would both like to visit again some time in the future. Thank you once again and until that day we both wish you the best of everything.

Stephen & Phyllis

Dear Harley and Meena,

We arrived home to over 12 inches of rain and have had that much or more since coming home.

We so enjoyed your "Coach House" and our visit to you and London. We all agree that our stay in London was much more enjoyable because of you. Also, because "The Coach House" is away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to enjoy the sights. We also were so thankful that you could help us to get through to the British Open and made other special arrangements for us. We didn't get to see everything that we wanted to and will definitely come back to spend another vacation with you. In the meantime, we are giving your cards out and showing everyone our pictures of your "Coach House." Haven't found anyone that hasn't been impressed. We'll e-mail them to you.

Thanks for the porridge and I've mastered the recipe! Mike will have nothing else now.

Thanks so much for you wonderful hospitality.

Sincerely yours,

Sue, Rick, Bonnie, and Mike.

Dear Harley and Meena,

Erik and I truly enjoyed our trip to England and especially our stay at the Coach House. You cannot imagine our comparisons between getting a "cultural experience" in staying with our gracious hosts versus staying at hotels wherein one gets rather mediocre service. We continually spoke about that to our parents and significant others who were not able to gain insight to the wonderful treatment we received while staying with you. I am looking forward to our next time back to England wherein we can visit you again, and I know my brother feels the same.

Erik and I continually talk about our wonderful experience at THE COACH HOUSE and have commented on the fact that we wish we could have spent more time with you learning about the culture. Our time was cut short, and we do hope you had a beautiful 25th wedding anniversary in Poitiers. We took a million photos of the more than generous living quarters to show people the accommodations, which I will send willingly via scanner.

Hugs and kisses,

Kelly and Erik

We arrived in North Carolina late last Wednesday, tired but pleased with our output for the trip. It seems that, wherever we went, good weather followed. It was hot in Rome, but we observed the honored tradition of siesta and that certainly helped!

I must tell you again how much Wayne and I enjoyed our stay at the Coach House. I hope that you will quote us on that! The house itself was most pleasantly decorated, and it felt like home rather than an impersonal hotel. Your breakfast each morning was a delightful part of our day, and we appreciated your warm hospitality.

Wayne and I wish you the very best with your expansion activities.

Dear Harley and Meena,

We had such a wonderful time in London and we know that a great part of that was our stay at the Coach House.

We truly felt that The Coach House was our own private "London cottage". You treated us like cherished neighbors and did everything you could to make us feel not only welcome but also informed, providing a wealth of information from which we benefited tremendously. You are lovely couple who embody the word hospitable. Everything in the Coach House was absolutely comfortable yet elegant: from the wonderful mattresses that invited a great nights rest to the beautiful antique furniture. Your place is a treasure!

Thank you again for such a wonderful experience, we certainly will be back if our next summer trip comes through.

Nancy and Amanda

We had such a fabulous time in London, and your bed and breakfast was perfect. I have sung you praises at my elementary school; already several folks have asked for your address. I did bring one of your cards with me, but I am sure I could give many more out.

We couldn't have asked for any nicer hosts. I think it was our pleasure meeting YOU. We will be back to see you. If ever you decide to visit the U.S. and the state of Maine. You have a place to stay, right here with us. Please remember that.

Virginia & Steve Link

We so enjoyed the hospitality and guidance given us during our 10 days of stay. Meena was so gracious to accomodate Bert's special requests, I hope we weren't too big a nuisance.

Your location is ideal to get away from the city bustle, but still be close by tube.

The suites roomy, and interesting decor, not all kitschy like some. The curry dinner you fixed for us was an unforgetable evening for us.

We will be planning another trip to Great Britain, as we had to skip Ireland and Wales this time. If a brief London stay will be part of that trip, we certainly hope you will be available.

Your place was my personal favorite on the trip overall, all of the seven others were different, a couple quite forgettable, one had a wonderful harbor view you won't find everywhere, nobody gave us a more interesting start to our day with a good breakfast and conversation.

Best wishes,

Gene and Bert Rooks in Gotha

We found the Coach House to be a very nice place to stay and I would recommend any traveler to London to consider it as an alternative to hotel accomodations. Some key points in doing so are:

  • The Coach House offers a unique "come and go" freedom without intruding in the owners private routine
  • The web page is very well done and informative
  • Access to the London Underground is close at hand

The neighborhood appears secure for being in at night

The hosts are well informed and helpful regarding sites and activities in the London area.

Thanks again

Dear Meena and Harley,

My wife and I have travelled throughout Europe. The Coach House was the single best, most enjoyable B&B in which we have ever stayed and very reasonably priced. Access to downtown London was a breeze on the Underground. It was the ideal setting for our family and you are exceptional hosts. Meena's original "English" breakfasts were the best. Thank you for your hospitality and we look forward to staying with you again the next time we're in the London area.

Steve and Judy Bassett Ellicott City, Maryland

Dear Harley and Meena,

We had a wonderful time on our trip, and staying in the Coach House made it possible. It was great to be able to get to the tube so easily and to be able to come and go without disturbing anyone.

I remember reading someone's glowing report about your breakfasts Meena and add my thanks and compliments as well. Now that we know the difference between oatmeal and porridge, I can say correctly that the porridge was the best I've ever had. Thanks so much for stock-piling the Coach House so generously as you departed.

You are great hosts and we look forward to seeing you again. Next time we do want to find the time for dinner.

Best to your family,

Mike, Judy, Robert and Lisa Chamberlain

Dear Meena, Harley and James,

I hope all of you're well and fine in England. Shuko & I arrived safely in Japan on the 26th.

Thanks to you,we had such wonderful time in London.

I've already sent a mail to ELLE Japan to recommend the Coach House's the best place to stay. People will find how wonderful experience to spend nights there.

Poor Shuko had to go to work the day after her arriving,on Friday. She's very busy at the moment, but she said she'd try to find some time to send you a mail as well.

What I really would like you to know is we really really had excellent time. Thank you very much ! ( I can't thank you enough, really)

I wish you happiness,

Noriko Suzuki

Dear Meena,

I can't begin to express how much we enjoyed our experience with you and Harley. We enjoyed the "full" English breakfast so much that Ruth prepared one for us last Sunday. Unfortunately, the type oatmeal which we have used forever doesn't make the same kind of porridge that we enjoyed with your breakfasts. It turned out to be the same lumpy tasteless stuff that caused me to swear off of it about 60 years ago.

Would you please do an old man a favor by providing us with the Brand name, and/or any semi-secret preparations you may practice in producing your porridge? Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.
